Originally, as I said back in December of 2021, I had planned to blog my entire training block for the Mississauga Marathon. Predictably, this lasted for three entries before becoming, for a variety of reasons, untenable. The main reason was that I simply struggled to find the time and energy to focus on writing regular updates on my running.
I suppose this difficulty arose at least partially because I tend not to be particularly introspective (or neurotic) about running. It's just a thing I do because I like it and think I can (and want to) get better at it. I do think a lot about planning and managing training and analyzing data, but I found it difficult to think of ways to make the typical weekly runs worth saying anything about.
Ultimately, I ran far better than I had expected. I placed in the top 25, and qualified for the Boston Marathon. So, now I can enjoy a more relaxed training block for the Waterfront Toronto Marathon, and toward Boston 2023!
Maybe I'll have more to say throughout the summer.
